Welcome Back to Smith ‘72!

Here's the latest news about our Reunion Book.

It is finished and I think a worthy representation of our extraordinary class.  You may have heard it is record-breaking in its size and scope.  435 of us contributed, with 395 writing essays.  There are features on the history of our time, the 5 College Consortium, the 12 College Exchange, Junior Year Abroad, and Glee Club.  There is also a charming piece on the fast pace of technological change over the decades.  Last but not least, you will see a large sampling of the remarkable range of more than 100 classmates who submitted their work to the Classmate Creativity section.

The final printing was delayed for multiple reasons beyond our control, but we are optimistic that the Book will be coming fairly soon.  I will post more information as soon as I have it.   Beyond what is listed above, this Welcome page is designed to give a flavor of the contents of the Book and to be a source of information about Reunion planning.

First, you need to LOGIN as you did before.  Then look at the set of tabs on the right.

Click on In Memoriam.  You will see the entire section of our Book dedicated to the classmates no longer with us.  There are photos, memorials, and many personal remembrances.

Click on More Classmate Creativity.  You will see photos of art work submitted for the Book, with names of artists and captions provided by  them.  These photos are limited to those which do NOT appear in the printed book.  Every artist in the class who submitted her work has at least one representation of it in the actual Book.

Click on Scrapbook.  Take a trip down memory lane with the more than 300 photos in this section,  identified by the classmate who supplied the photo and a caption.  Some of these photos are in the Book, but most are not.

Registration for Reunion opened Fri., Mar. 18, but there is still time for you to register.  Go to https://web.cvent.com/event/c9868aec-12f9-4f99-81d4-b27e32dbd71c/summary as soon as possible, as the College is not sure there will be enough rooms for everyone who wants to come to campus.   To get the latest information on Reunion planning, go to our class webpage by clicking on the link at the right of this page.

I hope you are all well and i will see you in a very short time.

All the best,

Ellen Maloff Case, Editor
